Harvard Acceptance

December 1998

Victor Huang, a senior at Polytechnic High School in Pasadena has recently been accepted to Harvard in their early action program.  This success comes as no surprise to those among the JRI faculty that have worked with Victor.  He has proven himself to be an exceptional student, and a good researcher.  We wish Victor the best of luck in his future.

 

1998 L.A. County Science Fair

April 1998

Three JRI students entered the 1998 L.A. County Science Fair held on April 20-22. Henry Lin is one of our promising JRI student who entered the fair under the category of Engineering Research with his Artificial Life in the Search for Optimally project. Genta Sakaguchi and Daniel Lee entered Team Earth/Physical Science category with their Decision Networks: A Novel Neural Net project. Henry won 2nd place and a special award from GTE. Genta and Daniel won honorable mention and a special award from Society of Petroleum Engineering. Henry will be entering the state competition. All three students who entered the fair have won awards.
