So, what is the Jisan Research Institute?

There are, generally speaking, two different kinds of research programs available for high school students. The first type is a short research program, typically between two and eight weeks in length. These provide a gentle introduction to research, but leave it up to the student to continue trying to work with researchers on their own. This can be difficult if the researcher lives far away from the student or is very busy (as most successful scientists are).
The second kind of research program is longer, lasting between two and three years. This kind of research program, which is generally open to all students, not just the strongest students in the country, takes a student through all aspects of the research. This includes teaching students basic skills, walking them through the design of a research program, helping them build and use their experimental apparatus, write up the results, and publish the results in a scientific conference or journal. This kind of program teaches students how to be independent scientists, capable of doing science without the need for outside help.

THERE IS ONLY ONE LABORATORY IN THE WORLD WHICH TAKES VIRTUALLY ANY HARD-WORKING STUDENT THROUGH THIS KIND OF PROGRAM.
The Jisan Research Institute is the only program that does this. Anywhere.
