The Jisan Research Institute is not only a source of interesting research and
a resource for emerging young scientists, but it is also a resource for
other groups needing research to be carried out. Many scientists and engineers
create viable research ideas whose realization could positively affect both the
business they are involved with, and themselves personally. Unfortunately,
many of these ideas cannot be worked to completion because of a lack of
resources -- either time or otherwise. It is here that JRI can provide the
most assistance.
JRI has developed a method by which researchers may come to the Institute and
propose research which may be undertaken by research teams at JRI. In this
process, little or no input is required from the party requesting the research,
outside of an expert in the field to serve as a Research Mentor for the project.
Any JRI Research Mentors on the project
may collaborate with this Research Mentor, as may the students.
What the process does not require is an input
of other resources, including any resources required for training of the team
and/or other equipment. Once a research project has been accepted by the
Institute, it will be carried to its conclusion, and the results will be
published. Any patentable research will be patented by the JRI research team,
with 50% of any proceeds
of the patent belonging to the Research Mentor.
Corporations wishing to request study of a given problem may request research
on the problem. This is attractive for corporations, as the creation of a
research lab is not required, and the maintenance of a research team need not
be an issue. Ownership of the work done by the JRI research team is retained
by the corporation.
